This short honeymoon packs the best of Zanzibar into five easy days. You start in Stone Town, wandering its spice-scented lanes before sailing out on a traditional dhow as the sun sets over the harbor. Then it is off to the northeast coast and a private pool villa where the days slow right down.
We have added just enough to make it memorable: a boat trip to snorkel the coral gardens around Mnemba Atoll, a couples' spa treatment and plenty of free time for the beach. It is ideal on its own, or as the perfect ending to a safari on the mainland.

Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1Arrival in Stone Town and Sunset Dhow
On arrival at Zanzibar Airport, your driver welcomes you and takes you about 20 minutes to your boutique hotel in the heart of Stone Town. In the afternoon, a local guide leads you through the maze of narrow streets, past ornate carved doors, the Old Fort, the former slave market and the busy Darajani market. As the day cools, board a traditional wooden dhow for a sunset cruise along the waterfront with soft drinks and snacks. End the evening with dinner on a rooftop overlooking the old town.
Day 2Stone Town to Your Private Beach Villa
Take your time over breakfast on the rooftop, then transfer about 1 to 1.5 hours across the island to the northeast coast. On the way, the countryside of villages, coconut palms and small farms gives a glimpse of everyday island life. Check in to your private pool villa, where the rest of the day is yours: a dip in your own plunge pool, a walk along the white sand beach or a long lunch in the shade. Tonight, dinner is served at the resort.
Day 3Snorkeling at Mnemba Atoll
This morning a boat takes you out to the clear waters around Mnemba Atoll, one of Zanzibar's best marine areas. Snorkel over shallow coral gardens alive with parrotfish, angelfish, starfish and sometimes turtles, and keep an eye out for the dolphins that are often seen on the crossing. Fruit and drinks are served on board between swims. Return to your villa by early afternoon for a lazy afternoon by the pool and a sundowner as the light fades over the ocean.
Day 4Spa and a Day for Two
Today is all about relaxation. A couples' spa treatment is booked for you at the resort, a chance to unwind side by side with a massage inspired by traditional island oils and spices. The rest of the day is free to swim, read, kayak along the reef at high tide, or simply enjoy your private terrace. On your final evening, consider a candlelit dinner on the beach, which the resort can arrange on request, as a memorable close to your honeymoon.
Day 5Departure
Enjoy a final breakfast and a last swim before checking out of your villa. At the agreed time, your driver collects you for the transfer of about 1 to 1.5 hours to Zanzibar Airport for your onward or international flight. If you are continuing on safari, we can easily connect you to a flight to Arusha or the Serengeti instead. We hope you leave with sand in your shoes and wonderful memories of your first days together as a married couple.

- Zanzibar is a mostly Muslim island; in Stone Town, cover shoulders and knees when walking around. Beachwear is fine at the resort.
- Snorkeling conditions depend on wind and tides, so your snorkel day may be swapped with the spa day for the best conditions.
- Reef-safe sunscreen and water shoes are a good idea for the beach and the snorkel trip.

Yes, this escape is designed to pair perfectly with a safari. Most couples fly from Arusha or the Serengeti straight to Zanzibar, and we coordinate all the connections.
Do we need to be strong swimmers to snorkel at Mnemba?
No. The coral gardens are fairly shallow and life jackets are available on the boat. The crew will help beginners get comfortable before getting in the water.
Can we choose a different beach area?
Of course. If you prefer sunsets on the north coast or a quieter spot in the south, we can suggest villa options there and adjust the snorkeling trip accordingly.
